The Indian / Scottish duo who are based in the Canary Islands released their second album, Human Wrongs, last year. The title track of the album was ripe for remixing and this compilation is the results of that effort.
This album of remixes contains a sample of various styles of electronic music, from the end of 80s to the present day, all wrought from bones of this four minute dystopian pop song.
DDO’s remix is a smart, magical, ambient work, inspired by the vision of Warp.
Tommy North presents a short sharp homage to breakbeat.
Dom gives us two remixes, the first of which, Daylight Mix, delivers a sparkling deconstructive multi-vocal take, with the essence of the indietronic catalogue of Morr. The second Nighttime Mix, transports us to a club and is varnished with the artists personal style…noisy, minimal and cosmic.
Paul Hood is a producer from Edinburgh, Scotland and weighs in with 5am Acid Dub Mix, a perfect slice of ambient techno. To be enjoyed in the early morning, dancing with eyes closed.
Acid Buda gives us another tribute to styles born over the last 20 years such as minimal techno.
Scotland’s Alan Slater produces two separate tracks showing us the essence of acid house and rave. Analog Nystagmus Mix and Viral Vestibular Neuritis Mix are capable of making a dead man dance. Brutal and bold both.
The last, and definitely most contemporary mix comes from Londoners One Line to an Angle who present a fantastic underground hip hop mix, structured with electronica, as close to old school as it is to dubstep. Quality rhymes and registers abound from this amazing MC. Brilliant.
The lyric content of the original song tells the near future story of man with robot, a dystopian love story which will be told in full on Vijay and Duncan’s forthcoming third album with the shuddering title The Day Reality Disappeared, No-one Realised.
